Position Title: Lateral Police Officer

The city of Ralston is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Lateral Police Officer. Applicants must be a Nebraska certified law enforcement officer, or must have a completed audit from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center identifying them as eligible for reciprocity. Other qualifications may apply. Applicants must be able to pass a background investigation, polygraph, credit check, and physical exam (including drug screen). Preference points will be awarded for veterans (Qualified DD214 required).

The Ralston Police Department is a progressive department that is focused on training, community involvement, and providing quality law enforcement services to the community it serves. The City of Ralston offers opportunities for officers to grow professionally and personally by providing significant training and education opportunities. The police department prides itself and keeping current with technical and tactical tools, providing officers the resources they need to do their job to their fullest capabilities. All police cars are equipped with in-car computers, digital recording devices, and state of the art radio system. The police department has positions on the South Metro SWAT Team, K9 Unit (vacant at this time), Investigation’s Unit, School Resource Officer (SRO) program, Crisis Negotiators, Bike Patrol and other opportunities. In addition, officers are trained in current tactical practices and they have an opportunity to be patrol rifle certified.

The salary range for a reciprocity candidate or Nebraska Certified Officer is $45,073-$51,833 based on experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits package provided.
