We currently have two openings, and an upcoming retirement has us planning for a third. These positions are considered open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis, with immediate evaluations and an accelerated hiring process for certified applicants. Non-certified applicants will be contacted with test and interview information after an initial review period.

The York Police Officer pay scale ranges from 39,614 to 52,819 annually, and selection preference, competitive wage adjustments, and negotiable sign on bonuses will be considered for certified officers.

These positions are regular, full-time positions with competitive pay and benefits, including paid overtime and holidays, and excellent family health insurance. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have the ability to obtain a valid Nebraska Driver’s License, have and obtained a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must pass rigorous background checks and a pre-employment drug screening, and will undergo a series of written, physical, and psychological tests.

Applications will be accepted until November 2nd, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The written exam and physical testing will be conducted on November 10th, 2018.

York Nebraska is a quiet, Eastern Nebraska community of approximately 8,000 residents, located at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 81.
