Law Enforcement Identification Number

LB 624 takes effect Jan 1 and has been worked into State Statute 23-3211, allowing a law enforcement officer to request the county assessor of their county of legal residence to withhold their residential address from the public.

The application has a blank for the officers “law enforcement identification number.”  This number is a four or five digit number that is found on the firearms report next to the officer’s name.  Graduates of NLETC over the last decade will recognize this number as the same as the one they used for test ID.

We are asking that officers not aware of their number check the firearms roster first before calling the training center to find their ID.
